
You can take a wide variety of courses and special events through membership in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the UA (OLLI - UA). A grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation enables the University of Arkansas to provide these affordable educational experiences.
Who Can Participate?
Adults over 50, who come together in a lively learning environment to explore intellectual and cultural topics of interest, share their experiences and talents, and make new friends.
What Subject Areas are Offered?
Courses and events cover thought-provoking and wide ranging topics from global events to the arts, from history to health science research, to important local and worldwide issues of the day. There's no pressure of tests or grades and no papers to write.
Who Are the Instructors?
OLLI - UA workshops and special events are led by current and retired UA faculty and community experts.
What Is the Cost?
The $50 annual membership fee covers the period from August 2007- December 2008. If you choose to become a member of OLLI - UA, your class fees will be less.
Where Are Classes Held?
Classes will be held on the UA campus, at the Continuing Education Building located downtown on the square in Fayetteville, and other sites around Fayetteville.
How Do I Get Involved?
OLLI - UA relies heavily on volunteers to make the program a success. We welcome volunteers to assist with the smooth functioning of courses, recruiting new members or suggesting new course offerings. You can also make donations to the program.
