In a special session hosted in partnership with the Arkansas Alumni Association, OLLI welcomed University of Arkansas Chancellor Charles Robinson for an inspiring presentation on how the university continues to serve both Arkansas and the broader global community. The program opened with remarks from Dean Kate of the College of Education and Health Professions, followed by an introduction from Brandy Cox, Executive Director of the Arkansas Alumni Association.
Chancellor Robinson’s remarks highlighted the institution’s enduring commitment to academic excellence, innovative research, and meaningful community partnerships—all deeply rooted in Razorback spirit and tradition. He shared many of the university’s proudest achievements, from receiving national recognition for groundbreaking discoveries to launching transformative student success initiatives that are reshaping higher education in the state. He also emphasized the university’s growing reputation as an employer of choice, noting strategic efforts to attract and retain top talent in teaching, research, and administration.
The class left attendees with a renewed sense of pride in the University of Arkansas and its forward-looking leadership. Attendee Faye Jones summed up the session perfectly: “Leaders do not follow the path; they go where there is no path and leave a trail. Chancellor Robinson is creating a trail with initiatives to fund education for Arkansas students who are, and will be, making our future trails.”
Thanks to Chancellor Robinson for leading an OLLI class on this journey—we loved learning all about the U of A’s future!
